FAQs

The range of an electric truck on a single charge will vary depending on the battery size of the truck, the route profile and driving speeds, the weight carried, weather conditions and the driving style of the driver. On a combined route profile, the Yutong TE7 100kWh is capable of 130 – 140 miles on a single charge and the 132kWh battery variant is capable of 170 – 180 miles.

Like any electric vehicle, the time taken to charge depends primarily on the speed of the charger, the charging capacity of the truck and the battery capacity. The Yutong TE7 can charge at up to 20kW on an AC charger and up to 100kW for the 100kWh battery variant and 120kW for the 132kWh variant.

The cost to charge an electric truck varies and is determined by the fuel price (electricity tariff - £/kWh) and the battery capacity of the truck. Assuming a typical electricity tariff of £0.28/kWh, then the 100kWh battery variant of the Yutong TE7 will cost around £26.00 with the 132kWh variant costing around £35.00. Public High-power chargers are typically around £0.75/kWh and so the cost to charge the truck increases to £70.50 and £93.00 respectively.

The batteries in electric trucks are expected to last for at least 10 – 15 years depending on mileage. The battery warranty in the Yutong TE7 is 8 years / 400,000km with the battery degradation not exceeding 30%.
